Jazz Pianist Deanna Witkowski to Perform in Benefit House Concert for UNC Asheville Music Scholarships

Jazz pianist Deanna Witkowski will perform in a special house concert to benefit UNC Asheville music scholarships at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Witkowski has appeared on NPR's Piano Jazz with Marian McPartland, has toured internationally with vocalist Lizz Wright, and performs with the BMI/New York Jazz Orchestra as well as in solo concerts.

“Witkowski is a wonderful musician, and it will be great to hear her in the intimate setting of a house concert,” said jazz pianist and UNC Asheville Assistant Professor of Music Bill Bares. “And this concert will help support scholarships for our student musicians, who will help Asheville’s music scene continue to blossom in years to come.”

The concert will take place at the Biltmore Forest home of Doris and Ralph Loomis. Tickets are $42.80 including tax. For tickets and information, email rsvp@unca.edu or contact Sallie Broach of UNC Asheville University Advancement at sbroach1@unca.edu or 828.232.2407.
