Gwen Wisler, founder and owner of Asheville Profits LLC and the newest member of Asheville City Council, will moderate Leadership Asheville’s 2014 Buzz Summer Breakfast Series panel, “Secrets to Enduring Business.” The Buzz Breakfast event takes place from 7:30-9 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, at the Renaissance Asheville Hotel, 31 Woodfin Street in Asheville.
Wisler has served as CEO of The Coleman Company, First Alert, Coleman Powermate, and Eastpak. In 2008 Wisler founded Asheville Profits LLC, which offers consulting services for established business entities. Clients pay for services through time or in-kind contributions to the Western North Carolina nonprofit community.
The panel will include directors and owners of some of Asheville’s well-known and long-lived businesses, who will discuss the challenges and keys to sustaining their businesses. The panel discussion will be followed by a Q-and-A session with the audience.
The “Secrets to Enduring Business” panel includes Stuart Cowles, owner, ClimbMax; Lew Kraus, executive director, Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity; Kevin Westmoreland, co-owner, Corner Kitchen and Chestnut restaurants; and Laura Webb, president and founder, Webb Investment Services.
