"The State of the Middle East in the Post-ISIS Era" – Ali Demirdas to Deliver Dec. 5 World Affairs Council Talk at UNC Asheville


Ali Demirdas will discuss The State of the Middle East in the Post-ISIS Era, in a talk at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at UNC Asheville’s Reuter Center. His lecture will be presented by the WNC chapter of World Affairs Council, OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UNC Asheville) and the university’s Department of Political Science.

Demirdas teaches international studies as an adjunct member of the faculty at the College of Charleston. He earned a Ph.D. in political science at the University of South Carolina, and a master’s degree at Süleyman Demirel University in his native Turkey. 

The World Affairs Council lectures at UNC Asheville will return in 2018 with the Great Decisions Series, with six talks slated for Tuesday nights in February and March.
