UNC Asheville Student Lectures on Relationship between Israeli Zionist Left and American Christian Right

UNC Asheville senior and Israeli Defense Forces veteran Daniel Arnon will present a lecture based on his undergraduate research, “Shaking the Wrong Hand? How the Israeli Left Perceives the Support of the American Christian Right,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 4 in UNC Asheville’s Karpen Hall, Laurel Forum. This event is free and open to the public.

Arnon, a native of Israel, conducted his research through a grant from UNC Asheville and the university’s Center for Jewish Studies. Arnon traveled to Israel and conducted interviews with ten prominent figures from the Israeli left, including politicians, scholars and journalists, about their views towards support from the American evangelical community. Arnon is co-president of UNC Asheville Hillel, and has led student trips to Israel and China.

This event is sponsored by UNC Asheville’s Center for Jewish Studies and UNC Asheville Hillel. For more information, contact the Center for Jewish Studies at 828.232.5027.
