Not just your average athletic celebration, UNC Asheville’s Homecoming 2014, “Bulldogs on Broadway: Lift Your Voices High” includes art openings, a chamber symphony performance, and the chance to stretch your creative muscles to engineer the world’s greatest Big Wheel Bike. (And don’t worry; your favorite classic Homecoming events like the annual parade and tailgate haven’t gone anywhere.)

There’s something for every Bulldog at Homecoming this year. Check out the full event schedule below:

 

Thursday, February 27

Men's Baseball & Tennis Pep Rally

Women's Basketball Game vs. Campbell

Third Annual Nearly Naked Mile

10 p.m.

University Heights/Sherrill Center

Join the Student Alumni Association as they rip off (most of) their clothes, donate them to charity, and run a mile in their bathing suits. This student philanthropic event benefits the Asheville Homeless Network.

 

Friday, February 28

This is your big chance to share that Bulldog pride. Roll down University Heights in your original, beautiful, school-spirited float—and don’t forget to come up with a skit! Look over the guidelines to find out how to register.

Emily Ellison- Alumni Art Exhibit

5:30 p.m - 7:30 p.m.

Highsmith Art and Intercultural Gallery

Experience pottery in a whole new way at this year's alumni art exhibition. Alumna and ceramicist Emily Ellison '13 will be the guest artist for this year's show, which runs from Feb. 13 –March 4 in the Highsmith gallery. Drop by during Homecoming for a chance to meet the artist and connect with members of the Department of Art faculty.

Pull in, kick back and enjoy music, games, and the company of fellow student and alumni Bulldogs! The Alumni Association will be providing burgers and hot dogs, but don't forget to bring your own lawn chairs, coolers, and snacks.

UNC Asheville students perform in this Homecoming-finale, Beethoven Symphony No. 1 and Sousa's Madness for Marches Medley, under the direction of Milton Crotts.
