Faculty Art Show 2017

Take a look at the walls of Owen Hall and you’ll usually find the creations of student artists, but for the month of September 2017, Owen Hall will also be filled with art by faculty and alum artists. The 2017 UNC Asheville Art Faculty Exhibition is on view in the S. Tucker Cooke Gallery, and alumnus Adam Cable’s exhibit, Real Realities, is in the Owen Hall Second Floor Gallery.

The Art Faculty exhibition features sculptures by Jordan Krutsch, Jackson Martin, Thomas Schram, Brent Skidmore and Matt West; drawings by Tamie Beldue and Scott Lowrey; paintings by Suzanne Dittenber and Robert Tynes; photography by Carrie Tomberlin and Eric Tomberlin; ceramics by Megan Wolfe; and painting and printmaking by Robert Dunning.Adam Cable

Cable, who graduated in 2013, returns to his alma mater with his exhibition Real Realities from his current home in Brooklyn, NY. This is his first exhibition since earning an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and includes works in photography, inkjet prints, wood paneling, fiberboard, drywall and fiberglass insulation. You can read more about his work in the Mountain Xpress.

Both exhibitions will remain on view through Sept. 22. Viewing hours for the Owen Hall galleries are from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays. For more information, visit art.unca.edu.
