Philosophy Scholar Sylvia Negri to Present "Life from Plants to God" March 20 at UNC Asheville


Philosophy scholar and researcher Sylvia Negri will present Life from Plants to God: some reflections on article 27 of Henry of Ghent’s “Summa” at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20 in UNC Asheville’s Ramsey Library, Whitman Room. This event is free and open to the public.

Silvia Negri is a researcher at the Philosophy Department of the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, Germany, and is currently a visiting scholar at the Medieval Institute of the University of Notre Dame. She has published articles examining philosophers from Dante to Thomas Aquinas. Her lecture will explore the philosophy of Henry of Ghent, a professor at the University of Paris in the late 13th century, and his major work, Summa of Ordinary Questions.
