UNC Asheville Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences Program Offers New Environmental and Cultural Sustainability Certificate

UNC Asheville’s Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences program will offer a new Environmental and Cultural Sustainability (ECS) post-baccalaureate certificate, with courses beginning in the spring of 2017.

The certificate will consist of five courses, including classes in sustainable cultures, economics and energy systems, and two elective classes. The certificate program is designed for individuals employed or seeking employment in land use planning, environmental nonprofits, government, and other related fields in which sustainability concepts play an integral role.

The ECS certificate program is designed for students from various backgrounds, and will take a multidisciplinary, liberal arts approach to sustainability. Students may complete the ECS certificate as part of their Masters of Liberal Arts and Sciences degree, or independently.
